Partition Magic 7 - Problem
 

Hallo Leutz!
Hab vor einiger Zeit PM 7 installiert und hab gut damit arbeiten können (partitions verschieben, umbenennen, konvertieren, etc. ...)
Seit kurzem auf einmal bekomm ich beim Start von PM 7 die Fehlermeldung "Error 117 - cant read drivenames" oder so ähnlich und das proggi startet nicht. Drive Image reagiert jetzt genauso.
Kennt dieses Problem jemand bzw. eine Lösungsmöglichkeit? Möchte nicht auf die tollen Funktionen verzichten.
PS start unter DOS geht auch nicht, da ist ihm ein disk manager im Weg.

Welches Betriebsystem ? (WinXP und Win98SE steht in deinem Profil)
Hast Du schon versucht Partition Magic zu deinstallieren und dann wieder neuinstallieren?

Unter WinXP. Hätte ich schon mal probiert. Kein Erfolg.

Hier ein Auszug aus der Support-Seite von PowerQuest:

Solution: Error 117 Partition's drive letter cannot be identified

Run PARTINFO to detect any partition table errors. If partition table errors are found, search the PowerQuest Knowledge Base for solutions to the specific errors.

If no partition table errors are found, the problem may be due to a conflict that is seen only in Windows. In this case, you should run PartitionMagic from the rescue diskettes.

If you are trying to delete, move, or resize a partition when you receive the error, then try hiding the partition, exiting PartitionMagic, and running PartitionMagic again after the system reboots. At this point, you should be able to manipulate the partition as desired.

Windows 95 or DOS

Werd ich heute abend mal checken.

Also:
Partition Info erkennt gar keines meiner Laufwerke - aber sowas von gar nix. Neuinstallation von Partition Magic 7.0 half auch nix - immer Error No 117 - cannot identify drive letters
der ImageExplorer vom Drive Image 5.0 erkennt alle Laufwerke, das Quick Image wieder gar keines
Hat jemand noch weitere Tipps für mich?

Ranish Partitions Manager oder XFdisk

kann ich dir nur empfehlen, sollte den Fehler erkennen.

aber vorsicht, weiß nicht, ob das "neue NTFS Format" von WinXP Schwierigkeiten macht.

Und warum schreiben die dann, dass PM 7.0 XP-kompatibel ist, wenns dann eh nicht funkt?

Rate dir, mache ein Image deiner Festplatte, lösche die Partitionen und partitioniere sie neu. Danach kopiere dein Image wieder auf die Festplatte

Verwendes du vieleicht eine Überwachungssoftware wie GoBack von Adaptec?
