installation win98 vortäuschen
 

hi,

ich suche ein programm, mit dem ich einer installation den glauben
schenken kann, dass ein win98 installiert ist und kein win2000.
ich möchte ein produkt installieren, welches sich nur auf
win98 inst. lässt.
da die hardware aber unter win2000 funkt, denke ich auch das die
software gehen würde. will ich halt einmal versuchen.

kennt einer so ein programm ???

Hast du schon mal von seinem programm gehört/gesehen??? Das klingt äußerst kurios!
Also ich kann mir schwer vorstellen das es so etwas gibt und das das echt funktioniert? Warum versuchst du es nicht mit win98 UND win2000 auf deinem System?? Das einzige was win2000 nicht kann ist spielen aber sonst....
aber vielleicht weiß noch jemand anders mehr zum thema...;)

Meinst du sowas ähnliches wie ein Win98-Emu für Win2k?
Wieso?? Was hat das für einen Sinn?
Win2k eignet sich auch gut für Spiele, nur laufen manche Win98 Spiele nicht.

die installation schaut nach, welches bs läuft.
findet es ein nt oder ein win2000 kommt eine nette meldung,
und die installation beendet sich.
jetzt suche ich ein programm, welches bei einer bs prüfung
win98 und nicht win2000 ausgibt.
ich habe das einmal auf einer webseite gesehen, dass es sowas
gibt. ist aber schon lange her und ich weiss nicht mehr wo.

ps: es ist kein spiel. ich spiele auf keinen pc und darum habe
ich auch kein windreck98 rennen.

Es gibt da irgendwas für Windows2000 mit dem man wirklich sowas vortäuschen kann soviel ich weiss...auch bestimme WinNT servicepacks(zb. Commandos lässt sich nicht installieren, weil er verlangt das Service Pack 6 oder so für WinNT installiert sein muss, obwohls ja Win2k is, glaub jedenfalls mich an sowas zu erinnern.)

Mir will der Name davon jetz aber ums Verrecken nicht einfallen..vielleicht kann dir wer anders sagen, der weiss was ich mein, wie das heisst.

Finding and Using Apcompat for Windows 2000


Apcompat.exe can be found on the Windows 2000 CD in the Support folder. (If you don't see it there, check the Tools folder under Support.) Drag this file to your desktop and then double-click the icon. This will bring up the Application Compatibility dialog box.


Once you have the Application Compatibility dialog box open, enter the path of the program you want to test. In the Operating System section, choose the operating system that you would like to "trick" the program into using. Under the Operating System option are four boxes that can be checked or left unchecked. The following is a description of those options.



Disable Heap Manager on Windows 2000

Compared to earlier Windows versions, Windows 2000 has more varied and complicated ways to manage memory. If you experience memory errors that did not occur in previous Windows operating systems, try disabling the heap manager.



Use Pre-Windows 2000 Temp Path

A few programs limit the number of characters used to store the name and path of the Temp Folder. The location of the Windows 2000 Temp Folder may exceed this limit. If this is the case in your application, check this box.



Correct Disk Space Detection for 2GB+ Drives


If a program uses an unsupported data type to query and read the amount of free disk space in Windows 2000, you may want to check this option. The data types are dependent on the programming language used to code the program. However, the process for detecting available disk space is the same.



Make the Above Check Box Settings Permanent


If checking the above options worked for your program, you can check this box to make these settings permanent for this program. It will make the necessary registry entries, and this entire Application Compatibility process will automatically run every time you open this program.


Apcompat.exe should solve your compatibility problems. If it doesn't work for your application, don't give up. Regularly perform the Windows Update to your system. Sometimes this tool is updated.

Achso, ich hab nicht gewußt, dass win2k einen Schutzmechanismus für Installationsroutinen hat, da ich die meisten Programme mit Win98 installiere.

wennst sagst welches programm es ist, ist dir vielleicht eher zu helfen ;)

danke ! ich habe mir das programm einmal angeschaut. schaut recht gut aus. ich werde morgen einmal versuchen die software mittels Apcompat.exe zu installieren. mal schaut ob die installation durchgeht. danke dafür.

ich meine du sollst schreibn welches proggie du installiern willst

wenns nix aufwendiges is (spiel oda videoschnitt oä) dann vmware verwenden rennt anstandslos, ich so 7 linux distribs ausprobiert auf meinem comp ;)

ja mit der Apcompat.exe sollte es gehen .funktioniert aber auf der Server version nicht immer.
