DivX unter LinuX?

wie bekomm ich divX unter linux zum laufen??
unter suse bzw. mandrake... ;))

gibt es nicht nen dvd software player für linux auch ? (hab i mal im chip gesehen...)

Hallo zusammen!

Habe (damals noch unter SuSE, unter Progeny noch nicht dazugekommen) den "GNOME Videolanclient" von www.videolan.org erfolgreich als MPEG (.avi,.mpeg) und vorallem als DVD-Player (Encrypted/non-encrypted) im Einsatz gehabt. Meine Version war 0.2.72, aktuell ist die 0.2.73. Ist ein sehr angenehm zu bedienendes Programm!

Features
Operating systems: all GNU/Linux flavours, most Unix flavours (Solaris, FreeBSD), BeOS, GNU/Hurd, MacOS X, QNX. Note that not all ports are fully functional, refer to a port's page to get information about its status.

Input formats: DVDs (even encrypted ones), system MPEG streams, system MPEG2 streams (PS and TS).

Additional decoders: DVD subtitles, Dolby AC3.

Video output features: X11 (XShm, XVideo), SDL, Linux framebuffer, GGI, BeOS API, MacOS X API. Hardware YUV acceleration, arbitrary window scaling.

Interfaces: Gnome, Gtk+, Qt, BeOS API, MacOS X API, text console.

Navigation features: slow motion, fast forward, pause, arbitrary jumps within the stream, DVD chapter selection, on-the-fly language and subtitles selection.


Auf der Website findet ihr Binaries aller Distros, aber auch den Quelltext, mit dem ich es damals machte (./configure --gnome=enabled, make, make install).

Diese Programm verwendet dezidiert nicht DeCSS , kann aber wie gesagt verschlüsselte Cd´s (habs mit Matrix und South Park probiert) abspielen.

DivX;-) hingegen wird ausdrücklich NICHT unterstützt! (Zitat Entwickler: )

Will VideoLAN support ogg/Vorbis ? Yes.

Will VideoLAN support VCDs ? Yes.

Will VideoLAN support RTP ? Probably.

Will VideoLAN have cool skins and themes ? Probably not. We are not the skin'n'theme kind of guys. But if you fancy doing it, take the Gnome interface plugin and modify it so that it uses custom pixmapped widgets.

Will VideoLAN support DivX ? No. DivX is not an open standard, and we have no intention of using the crap DLL hack other players are using, which prevents properly debugging an application. Besides, it's x86-only.

NEIN, da hast du mich falsch verstanden:

Das heisst du legst EGAL WAS FÜR EINE DVD ein, ob verschlüsselt oder nicht und schaust vom Laufwerk, NIX KOPIEREN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Läuft ohne Ruckler!
