B747-cdu
Hallo,
Hi,
At this moment the FDS CDU is plug and play based on the software of PM when you startup the program of PM. Level D can be done as well if you can program the buttons direct without using the PM software. It will be just a extra keyboard then. You need to translate the correct keystrokes send from the cdu to the Level D software. (working on a way to make this also plug and play in futher for level D but not yet active at this moment) gr. what frans says is possible...although you have to be carefull assigning the correct keystrokes.
The FDS CDU is merely a keyboard interface....so the <a> on the keypad is an <a> on the computer...b=b, c=c , etc. You could even use it to type a letter in word. ;) However, because it is only a keyboard interface, you can not reassign key assignments on the interface-IT board of the fds cdu. This means you have to reassign all keys in your FS setup. Including your F-keys...otherwise pressing a line-select key will lower or raise your flaps...or make your engines go full throttle or idle and pressing <g> on the cdu will lower or raise your gear....etc. so you have to make a multi stroke ctrl/shift key assignment for every single FS command. I know of noone who has done this. So be aware of that. Right now the only CDU that is really plug and play with the level-D (and project magenta and PMDG 737/747) is the one from Engravity / 737cockpit.com. For the level-D 767 you only need an updated .gau file which is available free of charge from the Level-D forum for all registered customers. |
