can't open bz2
 

Hi. ich hab ein tar.bz2 file und wollte es mit tar -xjzf entpacken.

Darauf kam die Antwort: is not a bzip2 file

hnnnn? Was heißt dann bz2?

ich habs auch nur mit bunzip2 probiert.

Gar nix!
Linux ordnet Dateien nicht anhand ihrer Endung, sonder anhand ihres Inhalts zu.
Probier mal file dateiname

ok thx. Fehler war, dass ich beim downloaden nur das zugehörige html file geladen hab und nicht das file selber.

uebrigens:
-j = bzip2
-z = gzip
als Shortopts fuer GNU tar. Beides zugleich macht also kaum Sinn ;)
