Kein boot von SCSI CD-ROM
 

Hab mein P2B-S endlich zum laufen gebracht und schon hab ich das nächste problem! Am onboard controler hängen 3 Festplatten und ein CD-ROM Laufwerk. Am IDE hängt nichts! Jedes der 4 Geräte hat eine eigene ID..hab lang genung gebraucht bis das gelaufen ist..
wenn ich die win 2000 cd einlege schreibt er hin das er eine bootable cd gefunden hat, aber booten tut er von der hdd...
auch die ubcd frisst er nicht! da ich mich mit SCSI geräten nicht auskenne brauch ich nun eure hilfe!

Bekommst Du beim Boot keine Tastenkombi angezeigt,
um ins Config-Tool des SCSI-Controllers zu kommen?
Dort sind settings für CD-ROM-Boot möglich.
Eventuell bietet aber Dein Bios die entsprechenden Optionen,
da Dein Controller ja onboard ist.

Das kenne ich aus der Vergangenheit. SCSI-CD zum Booten bringen ist oft nicht möglich. Soll angeblich drauf ankommen welche Emulation zum Booten angewendet wird.

Das heisst ob das CD-LW als Diskettenlaufwerk oder als Festplatte angesprochen wird.

Hab dann meistens kurzfristig ein ATAPI Laufwerk angehängt um die Installation machen zu können.

jo aber es is schon mal gegangen..wie noch keine HDDs angehängt warn!
ins scsi bios komm ich ohne probleme, aber was soll ich dort einstellen?

Wenn das schon mal gegangen ist, dann ist es vielleicht wirklich nur ein Bios-Setup.

Schau ob du den #ID vom CD-LW dort eingeben kannst wo um die Boot-Device gefragt wird.

Wenn das SCSI-BIOS (Adaptec?) schreibt, dass eine bootable CD drin ist, dann sollte es schon passen. Stell im BIOS mal ein booten von Laufwerk A: (Floppy), weil das SCSI-Bios das CD-LW nämlich auf A: umleitet zum booten.

habe einen AHA 2930U2 und im Manual steht folgendes bezüglich Boot-Device: hoffentlich hilft Dir das weiter.
Boot Device Options
Boot Target ID—Specifies the SCSI ID of your boot device.
Boot LUN Number—Specifies which LUN (Logical Unit Numbers) to boot from on your boot device. Multiple LUN Support must be enabled.

BIOS Multiple LUN Support—When set to Yes, the SCSI card
BIOS provides boot support for a SCSI peripheral with multiple
LUNs. Leave this setting set to No if your boot device does
not have multiple LUNs.
n Include in BIOS Scan—When set to Yes, the SCSI card BIOS
includes the peripheral as part of its BIOS scan at bootup.

BIOS Support for Bootable CD-ROMs—When set to
Enabled, the SCSI card BIOS allows booting from a CD-ROM
drive.

If both SCSI and non-SCSI (for example, IDE) disk drives are
installed, then the non-SCSI disk drive is typically the boot
drive. If your computer supports BBS (BIOS Boot Specification),
both SCSI and non-SCSI disk drives can coexist and you
can specify which drive to boot from. Refer to your computer
documentation for more information.

Es kommt stark drauf an wie es nicht von CD bootet.

Blinkt ein Cursur oben links? Schwarzer Schirm? Oder press any key to reboot.....

Wie siehts bei dir aus?

Zusatz:
Habe im SCSI-BIOS (AHA 2930U2) folgende Einstellungen:

BIOS Multi LUN Support: alle Disks und CD-LW auf YES
BIOS Supprot for Bootable CD_ROM auf Enabled

so mitlerweile funktioniert alles!
