FSBUS stepper, question an Dirk and other
Hello Dirk
I am now building the Stepper and have some question to you. 1. The connection "Aux" on the Atmel controller, what is this use for? 2. On the Flash elektonic diagram, is a transistor "TR1" wich type can i use here, is a BC548B okey? 3. I use a 12 volt, 0,15A bipolar stepper, must i use a 12 volt ekstern power, or can i use 9 or 15 volt? At last, can you explain to me, hov are the stepper find the zero point, if you take all power away, and start up again. Do i have to set alle the parameter again in the router or will the controller rember the position of the stepper? Best regards Finn Denmark |
Hi Finn,
i just completed my own CNC milling machine by using 3 of the stepper controllers. This was the reason for the aux port, which is a simple software controlled output to turn a motor (drill) on or off. The voltage for steppers can vary in a broad range. It's more important to have good setup of the timing. If you have heavy loads on the axis, the resonance frequency is also important. Zero point is determined by a switch. On reset, the motor can turn until switch is reached and that is 0. All in all i have made a lot of improvements to the software. If you like to have a new .hex file, i'll send it to you by email. regards Dirk |

Hi Dirk
Thanks for you answer. But i think you miss question no. 2. Can i use the BC548B for the flash elektronic? Regards Finn |
Hi Dirk
Yes, i will be very happy to get the new hex file, i have send you my e-amil adress.
Wich switsch are you use for the zero point, the upper or lower limit switsch? By the way, i use 2 step-motors to build a RMI instrument. Regards Finn Denmark |
