imap meldet "service not available"
 

Ich hab Debian laufen welches ich mir über Knoppix 3.3 installiert habe.
Wenn ich mich nun zum uw-imapd per telnet auf port 143 verbinde meldet es mir:

root@odin:~# telnet localhost 143
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to odin.

* BYE Service not available odin IMAP4rev1 2003.338 at Fri, 14 Nov 2003 11:13:28
+0100 (CET)
Connection closed by foreign host.

von wo ich mich verbinde ist egal.

kennt jemand das Problem, wer kann mir bitte helfen.

Achja, imap wird über inetd gestartet.

so, habs doch selbst geschafft :-)

für alle die mal das gleiche Problem haben:
in /etc/ gibts eine Datei die heißt nologin

ich hab Sie einfach gelöscht, hoffe ich hab mir damit nicht noch ein
größeres Problem eingefangen

ich glaub aber doch:
wenn ich jetzt ein

c1 login hutti mypassword

mache kommt immer

c1 NO LOGIN failed

hat wer was für mich?

Kann es sein,
 

dass das /tmp Directory bei dir read only ist ?
Du startest ja von der CD, oder ?
Der imapd braucht im /tmp Volle Zugriffsrechte.
Also schau mal da nach. ls -la /tmp. .. sollte 777 sein.
Kannst du einen File dort anlegen ? (touch /tmp/test).
Ansonsten: chmod 777 /tmp.
Dann muss es funktionieren.

nö, ich habs schon auf der Platte und ja im /tmp darf jeder werken was er will

mich stört das LOGINDISABLED in dieser Zeile
