120GB werden als 150GB erkannt???

hallo!

ich hab bei meiner neuen festplatte win2k und linux installiert gehabt, da hat aber einiges nicht funktioniert, jetzt hab ich die partitionen gelöscht und dann win neu installiert... jetzt hab ich im partition magic plötzlich eine 154000MB platte und wenn ich die partitionieren will kommt immer ein error

was kann das sein und wie kann ich diesen fehler beheben???

Mal ne blöde Frage, doch könnte es sein, dass deine Platte nicht korreckt vom BIOS erkannt wird, bzw falsch eingestellt ist?

Kommt mir so vor. Immer noch beim Win2k, oder jetzt ein anderes?

Lass vieleicht mal nachts Scandisk laufen (intensiv!), um eventuell defekte Blöcke zu erkennen. Bin mir net sicher, doch vieleicht hast nen defekten Block, der dem Sys das korrekte erkennen praktisch unmöglich macht, oder ist vieleicht nur dein Partition magic etwas "beleidigt"?

1.) Bios reseten bzw. besser wäre Updaten
2.) Laufwerke und IDE-Controller im Gerätemanager löschen -> neuboot
3.) Partioniern mit Win98SE Bootdisk ( www.bootdisk.de ) und anschließend Windoof install:

Am besten ist noch immer das Tool vom Plattenhersteller zu verwenden. Lasse das mal drüberlaufen.

Vielleicht is es wirklich eine 150 gb.:D
resete mal das bios oder schau ob eine falsche einstellung dabei ist und lass sie automatisch erkennen.

soviel kann ich mal sagen: es is eine 120GB ;) :D

im bios wird sie auch richtig erkannt als seagate STirgendwasA oder wie auch immer mit 120GB halt... :)

ich hab mir so ein tool runtergeladen, das auf diskette gespeichert wird und beim booten gestartet wird, aber der fragt nach diskette 2, ich hab eber nur eine!!!

hab im moment wenig zeit (schule), aber ich werd das tool heute mal drüberlaufen lassen wenn ich dazu komm. bios update hat also keinen sinn, wenn die platte noch richtig erkannt wird, oder?

Eines dieser musst machen um alle Fehlerquellen auszuschließen:

a.) Bios Reseten ("CMOS Clear") machen - Jumper am Mobo (Anleitung siehe Mobo-Handbuch)
b.) Bios Updaten ( Infos: www.wimsbios.com ) von der Homepage deines Mobo-Herstellers downloaden und mit Win98SE Bootdisk ( www.bootdisk.de ) flashen

was heißt das jetzt... da hab ich anscheinend kaputte sektoren...??? was kann ich gegen die machen?

ich hab die tests bei dem bad-sector-test immer abgebrochen, weil da is es nie weitergegangen... es blieb die anzeige bei 0% und die maus hat auch beim bewegen nur mehr geruckelt! das war sowohl beim seagate als auch beim generic test so.

ich würde die platte umtauschen!

nimm einfach den ausdruck mit und geh zum händler, dürfte ein garantiefall sein.
