Vienna's slang

Here we present you with a short introduction to often used slang
terms here in Vienna. While not all is translable, we provide you
with
(as we hope) the correct pronunciatons of each of the terms. Just
read the
bold text exactly as if it were plain

Single words

the police - deh heh, deh keybahrai

policeman - ah keybahrah

policemen - deh keybahrah

cake - dourtn

hot sausage (i.e. wiener) - ah hah-seh

chick - hose-n (colloq. form of "bunny")

trousers - hose-n

loud, annoying child - roads-pippen

drunken - wahch, in dah fatten

(heavily) drunken - bluenzn-fat, boom-tsuah

old - oyd


Phrases

"Everything is okay, isn't it?" (as a greeting) - ohless lywond?

"I'll have a piss!" - ee gay broonzn!, ee bin in dah fleasn-city!, ee gay shivven!, ee gay's beer wag-drohgn!

"Hey you! I´ll punch you (in the face)!" - hairst oydah, ee pruck dah ahney.

"Over there!" (pointing at something) -dourtn!

"Can you give me a Schilling?" (issued by beggars, often w/ added excuse) - hairst oydah, host aahn shilling?

"One more beer!" - no ahns!, no-ah cree-girl!

"Hey, that's good!" - dais is lywond!

"Keep the change!" - bust show!

"Ahhh! That's good" (while drinking a good beer) -dais is gourd!, dais is ah beer!

"Let's leave!" - how ma see eebah deh high-saw!

"Are you nuts?" - beast ksheessn?

"Do you have a cigarette for me?" - oydah, host ahn chick?
